Next week we will begin a new unit called "Taking Care of the Earth". I would love to turn our science table into a creation station where students can reuse things to make something new. If you have toilet paper rolls/paper towel rolls, newspaper, scrap paper, ribbon, buttons, boxes, etc that you would like to contribute to our station please send them in Monday. I will have this set up for the next few weeks.

Skills- In skills we learning how to write the capital letters to the alphabet using the correct writing strokes. We learned the tricky words: "word" and "when". We are using all of the knowledge we have learned this year and are now applying it to our reading and writing. The kids are really on a roll!!

Math- In math we wrapped up our unit on addition and were introduced to subtraction. We will not stop learning and practicing addition. It will be an ongoing skill that we will keep working on. The big idea in this unit is for students to form subtaction stories and write them using symbols. Students will also master subtraction fluency within 5. Today the students were introduced to subtraction using symbols. Students will learn several different strategies to help them solve subtraction equations.
