Game Night Fun

It was so nice seeing so many families at game night and creating some fun memories!

Next Thursday, March 7th school will be dismissed at 1:15 for spring parent teacher conferences. I will not be meeting with all families for these conferences. If your child did not have a conference slip in their folder and you have questions for me or would like to have a conference please let me know- I would be happy to meet with you.

In math this week we learned about numbers to 100. We continued to practice skip counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's. We also learned that numbers are made up of tens and ones. The kids practiced making numbers using base ten blocks.

In literacy we began our unit on weather and seasons. We wrote a letter to kids in Florida to find out what the weather is like where they live. I also have friends/family in Germany, Ohio, and Colorado that will be sharing pictures with us of the weather. If you have family or friends that would be willing to do the same please let me know. We would love to see a picture of what the weather is like right now along with where they live- we will be marking a map to show where we got letters from and hang up the pictures.

Each day next week we will be learning about a season. If your child would like they can bring the following:

Monday: Winter- wear your favorite winter hat/scarf

Tuesday: Spring- bring an umbrella in your backpack. We will read under our umbrella's during class. I will bring extra's if you do not have one.

Wednesday: Summer- Wear your sunglasses and bring a beach towel to read on.

Thursday: Fall- Wear your favorite cozy sweatshirt.

I am looking for the following materials to help enhance our literacy unit on weather:

*Clear 2 litter bottles (to create a funnel experiment)

*Voss water bottles (weather sensory bottles)

Charlie is this weeks Kindergarten Star Student. He is a hard worker and always tries his best. We are proud of you, Charlie!

Upcoming events:

*Thursday, March 7: Early Dismissal at 1:15

*Thursday, March 7: Parent Teacher Conferences

*Monday, March 25- March, 29: Spring Break

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for everything you do!

Jessica
